We are now accepting new private patients
Dear Patients,
We are now in the position to offer dental check up appointments again.
We are taking bookings for the months of January and February initially. In addition hygienist appointments are also available to book.
Check up availability will be more limited than pre COVID times to allow for safety measures and additional emergency appointments, we thank you for your understanding.
We follow the latest safety guidelines and have numerous additional measures in place to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
Please contact us to book and we look forward to seeing you soon.
About your appointment:
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our surgery. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.
Our practice follows infection control guidelines made by the governing bodies. We are up to date on new guidance that has been issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to recommendations.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
· Our practice will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again at your appointment
· We have hand sanitiser that we will ask you to use when you enter the practice. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the practice for you to use as needed.
· We no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect
· The use of the toilet facilities at the practice will be discouraged in line with the current guidance
· Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
· For some procedures we might look different to you with the additional personal protection equipment but don’t worry we are the same friendly and caring team underneath.
In line with the new guidelines patients that have or display any signs of COVID-19 or are isolating will not be seen in general practice.
Of course all of these guidelines are subject to change.
We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
How you can help:
• Do not attend the practice if you suffer with or display any of the symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with someone who is.
• Patients should attend their appointments alone, with the exception of children and patients with carers,
• Avoid bringing with you unnecessary items e.g. shopping, bags etc
• Bring your own pen if possible
• Payment can be made over the phone before attending or by card where possible. If you can only pay in cash please prepare the exact change in a see-through plastic bag.
• If you show symptoms following appointment booking, you should contact the practice by phone
• Please do not arrive early to the practice and only enter when it is time for your appointment.
• Please do not arrive without an appointment. We will not accept entry or see anyone without a prior appointment.
• Patients must wear a face covering.
We understand that these changes might be sometimes inconvenient but they are absolutely necessary in our fight against the spread of COVID-19. Our main goal is to keep our patients and staff safe and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
Yours Sincerely,
Stone Cottage Dental Surgery
